On November 6, a seminar on “The Korean Peninsula: The Present and the Future,” was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Ankara and the İhsan Doğramacı Peace Foundation, Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research at Bilkent Hotel.
After the opening remarks by H.E. Hong-ghi CHOI, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, two prominent speakers, Ph. D. Sang Hyun LEE, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Security Strategy Studies at the Sejong Institute and H.E. Arslan Hakan OKÇAL, Former Turkish Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (2014-2017) presented the root causes of the problems, recent developments on the relationship between the South and North of the Korean Peninsula as well as that of the North and the U.S. and the most critical issues blocking further progress for peace. The discussion was concluded by a Q&A session.
