We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow!
The main purpose of the CFPPR (https://www.foreignpolicyandpeace.org) is to help develop agendas and promote policies that contribute to the understanding of peace, security, and development. The Center also aims to provide a platform for homegrown conceptualizations of international relations and foreign policy research. Applicants from all disciplines whose research bears directly on International Relations are welcome to apply, but strong preference will be given to applicants whose research ties in most closely with the Center’s aims.
Fellows will be able to spend a substantial portion of their time working on their own research and writing projects, while taking advantage of the many academic resources available at Bilkent University. Additionally, Fellows will be required to play an active role in the Center’s programs and activities, including regular seminars and workshops, and the production of the Center’s journal All Azimuth: A Journal of Foreign Policy and Peace. Fellows accepted to the program will be offered a competitive stipend, full use of Bilkent University’s facilities, and office space at the Center. The fellows will also be expected to apply for research grants on behalf of the Center in coordination with the affiliated faculty. Therefore, experience in project writing for grants is an asset. In some cases fellows may be given the opportunity to teach a course at Bilkent University. Each appointment is for one year, with consideration for renewal for a second year.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled, with a final submission deadline of December 15, 2024.
Applicants should send their CV, a cover letter with a research statement, and names of two references at fppr@bilkent.edu.tr.
