The Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research (CFPPR) offers visiting fellowship positions for students and scholars whose institutions are located abroad and who plan to visit Turkey for scholarly activities (e.g., field research, sabbatical). Applicants whose research broadly falls under international relations, peace and conflict studies, and foreign policy analysis are strongly encouraged to apply.
We offer two fellowship programs:
The Junior fellowship is suited to PhD students as well as early-career and non-tenured scholars seeking to pursue scholarly activities in Turkey. We are most interested in welcoming scholars who want to conduct field research in Turkey.
The Senior fellowship is suited to tenured and senior scholars who are planning scholarly activities in Turkey. We especially welcome scholars who want to spend their sabbaticals in Turkey.
The fellowship can be granted for up to a year.
What we offer:
CFPPR is a research hub located at Bilkent University featuring motivated researchers and a wide network of scholars with diverse scholarly interests. We would be thrilled to host you and provide you with a convivial academic environment as you conduct your scholarly activities. In addition, we offer a benefits package that includes:
- Affiliation with CFPPR
- Office space
- Research assistant(s)
- Venues for research presentation/exchange
- Opportunities for network-building
How to apply:
Applicants should send a CV and cover letter (explaining the purpose, duration, tentative schedule of their proposed visit, as well as other information pertaining to the application, including information on special needs) in an email with the subject heading “Visiting Fellowship” to Dr. Efe Tokdemir (tokdemir@bilkent.edu.tr) and fppr@bilkent.edu.tr.
Informal inquiries about the fellowship can be directed to Dr. Onur Erpul (erpul@bilkent.edu.tr)
No deadline: This is an open call, and we accept applications on a rolling basis.
